Background:
The school building was first opened in 1851, with modern classrooms added in 1964, 1971 and 1989. Facilities include a large playing field. The school has enjoyed many sporting successes and has teams for netball, soccer, rounders, cricket and swimming. There is an after-school club, the Monty Club. Pupils can enjoy day and residential excursions, theatre companies visit the school each year and there are frequent visiting speakers. There are also events which include the local community, such as fetes, fairs and social events as well as fundraising through discos, jumble and car-boot sales. The school aims to reflect Christian values in a happy, secure community, where every child is encouraged to discover their full potential as a foundation for life.
