Background:

Baltonsborough School is accommodated in a new school building which opened in June 1998. It comprises three 'modern' classrooms opening onto an infant and junior playground, in addition to sharing the facilities of the village playing field. The village community hall adjoins the school and while the school enjoys 90 per cent of the usage during school hours, some community events do take place there on one afternoon and morning each week. The playgroup is located on the same campus and shares the school's facilities. Pupils are therefore able to make an 'easy transition' to school. The school grounds are 'landscaped' and provide an environmental area and adventure playground, which were both funded by the Friends of the School who raise money both through fairs as well as social events. The school has a 'modern, well equipped' library which is also accommodates a computer suite. Extra-curricular activities include netball, football, rounders, cricket, country dancing, recorders, cookery and computers.
