Background:
Bathampton Primary School founded on its present site in 1896. It is a small school occupying Victorian buildings, which have recently been substantially remodelled and improved with a two-storey extension. It is situated on the Kennet and Avon canal a short distance from Bath and offers a large field with environmental areas adjoining the playground and a garden adjacent to the school house. The school offers various extra-curricular activities such as dancing, music and competitive sports. Pupils' are encouraged to raise funds for other charities. Children also correspond with schools in India and Australia. Recent developments include the addition of an ICT suite with modern flat screen computers and interactive whiteboards in classrooms. These are all linked to the school network and to the Internet. The school is a friendly community with a tradition of high attainment and a rich breadth of experiences across the curriculum.
