Background:
The 'very popular' school occupies the former site of Dr Morgan's Grammar in a pleasant residential suburb to the west of Bridgwater. Pupils come from Bridgwater and a wide surrounding area and the school is 'truly comprehensive, both socially and academically'. The school has received a School Achievement Award for Excellence. 'We aim to provide a happy and purposeful environment built upon mutual respect and positive relationships, which encourages endeavour and the pursuit of personal achievement in all aspects of school life.' Numbers are rising rapidly and the school is over-subscribed in every year group, receiving 1.3 applications for each place, despite the fact that it has increased its intake from five-form to seven-form entry.
