Background:

Bathwick St Mary Church of England Primary School was founded in 1841. The present main school buildings were dedicated in 1986, providing seven classrooms and two shared areas; there is also a large hall, which is used for assemblies, physical education, drama and dance. The school has a well-stocked library and resource area, which holds a wide variety of fictional and non-fictional material. New ICT suite opened in November 2003. Active parent partnership programme; induction sessions for new parents and children. Extra-curricular clubs include football (girls and boys), netball, cricket, Latin, French (outside tutor), country dancing, hand chimes, recorders, chess and watercolours. Over-subscribed, with two applications per place.
