Background:
Nailsea School was opened as Nailsea Grammar School in 1959. The school'serves North Somerset. It became comprehensive in 1966 and in 2004 achieved specialist status as Technology and Media Arts College. The school has superb facilities with 11 science laboratories and three preparation rooms, six fully equipped Information Communication Technology rooms, a drama centre, textiles rooms and three food technology rooms and a learning resource centre. Sports facilities include 32-acres of playing fields, sports hall and gymnasium. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include rugby, football, cricket, athletics, gymnastics, hockey and rounders. The school recognises students as individuals, striving to bring its best in each while promoting traditional values through a progressive curriculum.
