Background:

St Vigor and St John Church of England Primary School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is four to 11.The school'serves the village communities of Chilcompton, Stratton- on - the- Fosse and the surrounding area. It has a spacious ICT suite, equipped with new computers, and four laptops and an Interactive Whiteboard in each classroom too. It also has a large playing field and a Multi User Games Area (MUGA for short), which will be open shortly. This is a kind of enclosed ball-games area, with flood lighting so that members of the public outside of school hours can use it. This school gives opportunities for children to take part in activities after-school. The activities depend on the particular expertise of the teachers. At present they are Kings Kids, netball [girls and boys], tag rugby, football [girls and boys], hockey, cricket, drama, recorders, art, environmental club and animation.
