Thurlbear Primary School was established in 1872 and is a voluntary aided school. A wide range of activities are offered during the lunch break, or after-school, sometimes at weekends too. These include football, tag rugby, cricket, county dancing, a music club and a train club. The school aims to give children a foundation for life, in a Christian, caring atmosphere and prepare them for their developing role into the secondary stage of their education.
